Our Story

History

Humble Beginnings

Our company was established in 1971 when our founder Robert (Bobby) Quinn, took the first step towards building his own construction business in Carlow. A skilled carpenter, he set up as a sole trader initially before working with and employing excellent tradesmen throughout the country.

Robert liked things done correctly - safety and quality were always number one on his agenda. His management skills developed quickly, and he was soon completing projects for Braun Oral B, Lapple, Health Service Executive and nationwide projects for the Bank of Ireland.

The company grew from strength to strength and Robert Quinn Ltd quickly became a trusted company for its quality workmanship and the ethos of safety, quality, dependability and efficiency was founded.

2nd Generation

Family business

Over the past number of decades the company has evolved significantly from an initial turnover of £10,000 pa in 1971. Bobby’s ethos at the very beginning was to deliver good quality work within programme. This ethos still rings true today.

Robert Quinn Ltd is now in its second generation and is led by Michael Quinn. Michael took over as Managing Director in 2012 and continues to grow and expand the business stating;

Generation

Where We Are Today

Over 50 years since its inception, Robert Quinn Ltd is now one of the leading construction companies in Ireland boasting a long tradition of quality workmanship and prompt delivery of construction projects throughout Ireland.

Throughout that period, we have successfully completed projects within the civil, commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, pharmaceutical and private sector. Over many years, we have maintained strong working relationships with key clients such as Bank of Ireland, the Health Service Executive, McDonald’s Restaurants Ireland, Merck Sharpe & Dohme, Aldi Stores and Sanofi to name a few.

At Robert Quinn Ltd, we value the importance of giving back to the communities in which we operate. We foster the spirit of helping local community organisations and activities in our region, particularly our chosen charity partners.

This includes working with local schools and colleges to assist young people in choosing future careers and being an advocate for our industry. Operating an equal opportunities policy for all present and future employees is of the utmost importance to us.

In addition, we recognise that we must integrate our business values and operations to meet the expectations of our stakeholders.
